Click on image to enlarge Broad-Billed Hummer At many of the art shows where I have been demonstrating the art of scratchboarding, I am constantly asked why I don’t put color into my scratchboards. I kept resisting, thinking that it would spoil the purity of the time honored black vs. white art medium. However, after applying a thin wash of watercolor to this beautiful broad-billed hummingbird, I believe that I will be adding watercolor to many of my scratchboards. I am extremely pleased with this stunning painting.
