About the Marilyn Manwaring

Marilyn ManwaringMarilyn has been painting for the last 32 years. Whether it was as an elementary school teacher with her class, or in the many varied mediums she uses; Marilyn loves a rich palette of color and the play of light on her subjects. She strives to portray the wonderment of children; animals in natural surroundings; transparency of flowers; and the relaxing landscapes of Oregon, Colorado and Arizona.

Marilyn was notably influenced by the artwork of watercolorist-Arleta Pech, pastelist-Richard McKinley and acrylic artist-Carl Seyboldt. She lives with her husband in Southern Oregon, and uses her three grandchildren and the thousands of students she taught over a 37 year teaching career to inspire her artwork.

She has received several recognitions for her work.
